Which charging units qualify for this program?
Currently, only ChargePoint, Enel X Way JuiceBox, and Wallbox residential EV chargers are compatible with this program.
Am I required to connect my charger to the internet?
Yes. To participate in this program your charger must be connected to the internet.
Am I required to give Clearview Energy access to my charging data?
Yes. Connecting your home EV charger product to the internet and sharing charging data with Clearview Energy provides Clearview Energy with the necessary information to determine your quarterly reimbursement amount.
If I have a ChargePoint charger, how do I share my charging data with Clearview?
You can share your charging data by taking the following steps on ChargePoint web portal.
Login to your ChargePoint account at www.ChargePoint.com.
Once logged in, select “Connections” from the menu at the top of the page.
Type in “ClearCharge” as the Connection Code and select “Apply”. Note: the connection code is case sensitive.
Select “Request”, then follow the prompts to provide your Clearview Energy Account Number and agree to the program’s terms and conditions.
Remember the Connection Code is case sensitive.
If I have a Enel X Way JuiceBox charger, how do I share my charging data with Clearview?
Select Continue and assign Admin role to Clearview.
Select Custom Access, then select your charging unit.
An email will be sent to Clearview informing Clearview of your data sharing approval.
How is my reimbursement check calculated?
Clearview Energy receives your charging data from your manufacturer. Data includes the amount of kWh used while charging during the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM every day of the quarter. At the end of the quarter, we tally up all the kWhs that have been used for charging during the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM. This total is then multiplied by your electric rate. The result is the amount of your reimbursement check.
How do I know when I am connected to Clearview Energy?
Clearview Energy will send a confirmation email once you are an active Clearview customer with a valid connection.
When does the free charging begin?
Free nightly charging does not begin until your account has been fully activated with Clearview Energy, and Clearview Energy has received and approved your data connection request.
What must I do to get the $50 rebate?
Clearview Energy offers $50 cash back for the purchase of a new ChargePoint or Enel X Way JuiceBox residential EV charger. To be eligible for this offer, you must have purchased your charger within 90 days of enrolling in the ClearCharge plan. You must show proof of purchase and be an active Clearview Energy customer on a ClearCharge electric plan and in good standing. Proof of purchase can be emailed to CustomerService@clearviewenergy.com or mailed to Clearview Energy P.O. Box 130659 Dallas, TX 75313 Attn: ClearCharge.
When will I receive my $50 rebate check?
After Clearview receives your proof of purchase, your $50 rebate amount will be included with your first quarterly free charging reimbursement check.
Will I see a credit on my electric bill for the “free” charging?
No. Clearview Energy will mail a reimbursement check to you on a quarterly basis.
Why can’t Clearview just credit my electric bill?
Your electric bill is prepared by your utility. Clearview Energy will reimburse you separately.
When will I receive my reimbursement check?
Free charging reimbursement checks are issued 4-6 weeks after each calendar quarter end. (Four to six weeks following March 31, June 30, September 30, December 31). If your electric service is disconnected for any reason, or should you elect to switch to another Clearview Energy plan during the quarter you will not qualify for the cash back and reimbursement offers.
What qualifies as reimbursable “free” charging?
The free provision is limited to the energy (kWh) used while charging between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM with a monthly cap of 250 kWhs or the total kWhs billed during a given billing period. Free nightly charging does not include any charges associated with your charger nor does it include transmission, distribution, and/or fixed charges from the utility’s portion of the bill or any other Clearview Energy fees.
Is there a limit to how much energy that can be reimbursed?
Yes. There is a monthly cap of 250 kWhs, and your kWhs used during 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM may not exceed the total kWhs billed during the same period.
What would disqualify me from receiving reimbursement for free charging?
To receive reimbursement for free nightly charging, you must be an active Clearview Energy customer enrolled in a ClearCharge electric product through the calendar quarterly period with no outstanding balance at the end of the calendar quarter. If your electric service is disconnected for any reason or should you elect to switch to another Clearview Energy plan, your accrued free charging will not be reimbursed.
If I move, can I remain in this program?
This Clearview Energy offer may not be available in all areas. Service address must be located in a distribution utility area currently being served by Clearview Energy. Service areas are located in 11 deregulated states and Washington DC. See if your new state is deregulated here.
How do I set my ChargePoint charger for nightly charging?
Activate your ChargePoint home charger (the ChargePoint app)
In the ChargePoint app, open the main menu and select Home Charger
Tap Schedule and turn on the “Schedule” option.
Enter the start and end times you would like your charger to charge your EV. We recommend weekdays and weekends 11:00 PM - 6:00 AM to take advantage of our free charging offer!
How do I set my JuiceBox charger for nightly charging?
You can update the JuiceBox settings from the JuicePass app.
To access the JuiceBox Settings section, on the top left corner of the home screen, select 3 horizontal lines > Home Charging > Settings icon > Smart Charging.
In the Smart charging section, select Scheduled Charging and Toggle on the button next to Enable.
Enter the 11:00 PM – 6:00 AM start and stop times for both weekdays and weekends, then select SAVE to save the changes.

Total number of reimbursed kilowatt- hours cannot exceed 250 kWhs per month, or the total kWhs billed during a given billing period. Reimbursement will be in the form of a check issued 4 to 6 weeks after each calendar quarter end. You must be an active Clearview Energy customer on the ClearCharge electric plan and enrolled through the end of the calendar period to receive reimbursement for the nightly charging. If your electric service is disconnected for any reason, or should you elect to switch to another Clearview Energy plan, your accrued free charging hours will not be reimbursed. Free charging through Clearview Energy is subject to all ChargePoint/ Enel X Way JuiceBox/ Wallbox Terms of Use and does not begin until your electricity fully active with Clearview Energy by the utility and you have activated the ChargePoint /Enel X Way Juicebox service authorizing the sharing of charging data with Clearview Energy. Your ChargePoint/ Enel X Way JuiceBox/ Wallbox device must maintain internet connection to transmit charging data.
